Major Events
Welcome BBQ
At the beginning of the school year the school together with the support of the Parent Volunteers coordinates our traditional Welcome BBQ to welcome new and returning families. This is a fun event with great music, fine wine and homemade delights from around the world.
Halloween Party
On Wednesday, October 31st your class room parents organised a wonderful Halloween Party in your child’s class. The Parent Volunteers surprised your children during lunchtime. After having had fun in school, it’s time for trick or treat. For more information about the Halloween Parties please contact Tracy Anderson or your class room parent.
St. Martin's Parade
St Martin’s day is a traditional German festival celebrating Martin of Tours who lived in the 4th century. He was a Roman soldier, who later was baptized and became a monk. St. Martin lead an exemplary life. The legend is, that St. Martin as a Roman soldier shared his cloak with a beggar in the bitter winter. Therefore we celebrate the St. Martin’s Parade as a symbol of his generosity. Traditionally, when evening falls, children carrying lanterns parade through the streets and finally go from house to house singing. They are often rewarded with sweets. Please come and join the school and the Parent Volunteers for this wonderful celebration with music, a “Weckmann” for all the children and a wonderful bonfire in the evening.
Movie Night
Movie night is one of our most popular events in the school and is open to everyone including mums and dads. Bring your cushions to the gym and join us for popcorn and a great film night of fun. This year's special is the Secondary Movie Night at the Kinopolis in Bad Godesberg. For more information contact Sinem Kanberoglu.
Mum's Night Out
On December 5th we had a wonderful night out with our traditional ornament exchange. We had a lot of fun and were hapy about the response we received.
Newcomers coffee
At our Newcomers Coffee we welcome all parents that arrive during school year. Meet the PV and other community members in a relaxing atmosphere. This year we organised the Newcomers Coffee on Tuesday, March 11. All new families got a personal invitation.
Talent Night
This wonderful school event showed all the talents that we have in the school. Did you enjoy our great entertainers, exciting story tellers, great singers? The feedback of the audience was great and the whole team was very enthusiastic. Well done everybody.
International Day
International Day is our biggest event of the year. It’s an opportunity for the whole school community to come together to celebrate the many different cultures and nationalities represented at BIS. Sample cuisine and enjoy dance and music from around the world. This school year we will celebrate our International Day on Saturday, June 14th.
