BIS Sports
Extra Curricular (EC) activities play an important part in the life of Bonn International School. The school offers a broad and balanced programme including clubs and activities suited to different age groups and interests. These include cheer leading, the science club, Latin dancing, Model United Nations, drama, chess, bridge, maths, creative writing, filmmaking, a blues band, and creative art and design.
BIS has a thriving EC Sport Programme that offers both recreational and interscholastic sporting opportunities. We founded the German International Schools Sports Tournament (GISST) that brings 9 international schools together for quality sporting activities at both U14 and Varsity levels. BIS is also a member of the ISST organisation and competes in ISST football and basketball tournaments at Varsity level. The school strongly encourages the active participation of all students.
At a time when it is commonly accepted that children and young people are leading a more passive and less physically challenging lifestyle than in the past, it is essential that we as a school and you as parents encourage our students to participate in challenging creative activities and sports. This not only fosters a sense of enjoyment and achievement but also helps to develop a love of Sport and the Arts and hopefully encourages students to understand and strive towards leading a lifelong healthy, enriching and active lifestyle.
The full Extra Curricular Activities Programme can be found in the publications section . Changes and regular updates are posted in the school's weekly Newsletter.
